ROA Submission

Before submitting the advert we had a quick feedback from our tutor and also tutor from product design they mention that the watch is low-poly on the bmw logo so it needs to be hi-res, there's a flashing screen on 10sec on the advert so remove as these are dangerous for epileptics and it needs to have tailed with 5 seconds of black screen. So we took their feedback and improved it on our post production and we then submited it today to ROA.

Final Outcome

Now we have finished the post production, putting all the render together with the audio to form into a movie. Looking at the final movie i and Moe am extremely please and excited with the overall outcome. At friday the 31st we are ready to hand in the movie into a tape to submit to Rave On Air.
Working with Moe has gain skills and commucation though working together i believe we work togehter as a team and hope to work together near future terms of going into 3rd year and doing group project.
Now i am looking forward to end of year show were our advert will be shown on the big tv to every students and visitors and i hope they like it, next week i will upload the final advert on the blog.

We have just finished rendering the BMW car render and watch render seperatly also the voice artist Alan Bainbridge has send us the final audio narration, and the outcome of the audio me and Moe is extremely pleased about it suits with the car advert so very happy.
Next we will put together all the three part renders, which are environment render, car render and watch render to gether with the audio for post production.

After alot of search we came across a voice artist Alan Bainbridge. His website is www.voxjunction.co.uk he has kindly enough to help us with the voice over.
We wrote a dialog then met up with product designer Gilmar to help us out what he wanted the artist to say to support his stop watch. This is the dialog:

New Blockout

As for now we have just finished the environmental render only which took about two days to finish. Next we will start to render the car and the stop watch.

New Environment

This is the new and improve environment which moe has created, as for the animation the vehicle will be driving in this underground tunnel with pillars while camera is rotating around.

This is the final outcome with the car in the environment, we are very pleased with the constrast between the city environment which we were looking for compare to our reference images we have collected.

Chage Of Plan Evironment

With the vehicle in the city environment, we didn't like the render and it wasnt the look we were looking for within the reference images we had collected. Also it was too common car advert were car driving along in a city which we wanted somthing different. We then decided that we going to use a narrow, sharped edge environment in a car park that way the viewers concentrate on one room rather than several city building.

Experimenting With MetalRay In Maya Using Hdr

Here I started to experiment with metalray rendar and use of lights. This is the final outcome that I may considor for the car, the reason I chose black paint job on the car because of the black and white city. It took me ages to get the right black but finally got the right render using the hdr setting gave the right reflectivity and shineyness that i wanted which i im extremly pleased about.

I then started to texture the car and used blin shader, overall im happy with the outcome i have produce, i think it looks really realistic in terms of comparing with the referance images that i have collected that i im very happy with.

Monday Presentation Pitch

Today we had the pitch which i was confident about since we done a final blockout to show also a powerpoint presentation to support us with visual images. After doing the presention and explain our ideas we got a good feedback from the product desingers, they mention that its is very nice and that they are pleased about also Gilmer wasnt their but the head tutor of product design said that gilmer would be very chuffed and excited with the advert were going to do. Which made me very happy and it made me really postive and confident towards the project were going to produce. Although they did mention about the audio that to research more into BMW music and audio background to relates to our project which me and moe will look into in post production.

After lot of ideas sharing me and moe came up with the idea that to surprise the audience by showing them a different product but it turns out to be a stop watch advert for example Coco Cola advert were it shows the game GTA which surprises the audience by at the end of the advert it refers to Coco Cola which is effective. So it starts of with a image of the BMW stop watch then the camera zooms up into one of the watch handle then u see a car drivin the handle were it zooms into more then you see a black and white city were the car is driving fast. When the car turns the road turns rather than the car by this it is showing that the watch handle it rotating, at the end of the advert the camera zooms into the car wheel into the BMW sign then the logo turns into the watch, to finish it off the slogen comes bottom which says "driving in time" which trying to say be on time where ever you go because you'll always have the BMW watch with you to keep on track. Also we decided that will be using BMW M6 car since thats the only range that would meet and relate to the watch since its slickiest and stylish car also M6 has ability to drive fast with the engine it has while you drive in plesure with the watch which nothing can go wrong.

This advert I really like because usually you see car advert, car driving along on long road but this advert it shows parts of the car with naration messeges which makes you think, this is really effective and might think about it toward our project.

This advert, it surprises you in thinking that its about advert on different product but at the end of the advert, the camera turns and you see a BMW car, which again is effective.

Both advert I picked out the reason because it relates to animation and it made me think about animation advert and how I can take that account to towards our project, which already made me think of lots of ideas for the pitch.

We were given our knew project brief and we had to team up with a pair so I chose Mohammed Warsame and both decided that we wanted to do a advert on the Brand BMW, so then we contacted Gilmer by email, who is an furniture student to let us kow what product he came up with so we can start on our research and a storyboard for ready to present an initial pitch to him and the tutr on 3rd week of monday.
